US automaker giant Tesla Inc is looking for potential candidates to staff their energy trading team to strengthen its power renewable and battery projects. Tesla’s website says that the company is recruiting and posts a job on LinkedIn as well.
“I’m building a new team at Tesla focused on Energy Trading and Market Operations,” put down Julian Lamy, who worked in Tesla as a senior optimization software engineer. According to Lamy’s job description, the candidate applying for the senior analyst job for energy trading should reside in Palo Alto, California – he stated in his LinkedIn post.
The giant automaker has expanded its company operations to incorporate massive battery storage facilities and home solar panels, which currently constitute a decent portion of the company’s total revenue.
In the past, the automaker has applied to initiate marketing electricity in Texas, USA.
Tesla did not instantly respond to the comment’s requests.
John McClellan, director of a recruitment company Aurex Group, said, “Tesla Energy is on its way to becoming a distributed energy provider at the residential level as well as utility-scale,”
Autobidder said the company aims to use the company’s own automated platform for trading and “bidding batteries into multiple wholesale energy markets,” – as per the job description recently posted on Tesla’s website.
The job posting further includes that the position requires competency in wholesale electricity markets, and the selected applicant will “lead trading and real-time operations for battery, solar, and wind projects participating in wholesale energy markets,”
